Praise to the Lamb

You are my Light in the dark times;

In the deserts, a shade for my head.

Amid chaos, you're my silence;

When at times I am lonely, I bask in your presence.

 

I drink in your joy with sweet intoxication,

And marvel at your depths, in quiet adoration.

I exalt in your glory, so manifest to me

That the devils flee shrieking without being bidden.

 

Lest I descend from the mountain too quickly

And leave you alone at the heights

I patiently wait 'til you bid me go

And know that you're walking beside me.

 

You're the sweet breath of morning,

The bright skies at dawn,

A cool walk in evening

Midst the flowers of spring.

 

To think that you loved me

Even to death

And purchased eternity

Brings a catch to my breath, and stirs in my breast.

 

Could I even imagine what death holds in store

I would be no less eager

To return to that place that we meet even now

And Paradise comes in a figure.
