When Darkness Falls

Broken hearts and shattered dreams

Are part of our human condition,

The clay remolded on the potter’s wheel,

The flawed vessel mended.

We cannot look back on what’s past and done

And mourn what might have been,

For God has freed us from those former days

And given us a fresher vision.

The present is a gift to share

What God in his grace has provided;

Tomorrow is an open book

Still waiting to be written.

Blessing with obedience comes

When with a willing spirit

We bend our minds and wills to His

And join him in life’s journey.
