Somewhere the Sun Still Shines

Love Dispels the Shadows
Imagine a dark and moonless night with noises in the shadows. Terror comes soon to a child alone, whose eyes can’t see what’s coming. A single light can calm the fears, a single word dispel them. A father’s touch, a mother’s smile, and all is soon forgotten.
Even we of later years are fearful in the darkness, Anxious for we know not what, that might be coming toward us. But picture one afraid of death, who has no hope beyond it, And cannot see what lies ahead, or even understand it.
Perfect love, the Bible says, casts out fear and torment, So the answer to our terrors is to have more love within us. The only fear that we should have is fear of God the Father; Before the light the darkness flees, and love dispels the shadows.
