Somewhere the Sun Still Shines

Love’s Requirement
When others suffer, we share the pain, Because that is love’s requirement. Though what we want most is to take it away, We can only, in Christ, help endure it.
God uses sorrow to heighten our joy, And tears to sweeten our laughter. Just as Christ in suffering bore Our sins, to gain victory o’er them.
Sometimes, of course, our troubles arrive Because we’ve gone looking for them, But at others, God sends us through fire To burn off the dross, and refine us.
After the darkness, the morning comes, But God is in both, as we’re passing. And, as to our feet his Word is a lamp, So to our hands he is holding.
