The Cost of Friendship
Can you ever really count the cost Of friendship in the Lord? Is there a way to say the words To express what can’t be said?
The world gives friendship, at a price we pay, And looks for reward in return. But for friendship in Christ, he paid the price, And all he wants from us is our love.
Love can’t be kept unless it’s given away; The saying may be old, but it’s true. As he gave his life, we must give our own In service, in time, and in pain.
Friendship’s reward is not always in kind, We can’t always give in like measure, But we always receive, whatever we offer, God’s love, without reservation.
